The London Rippers (25-35) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Rockford RiverHawks (32-41), recording a 12-1 victory on Sunday at RiverHawks Stadium.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the London Rippers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

and a wild pitch in the first inning and a groundout by Justino Cuevas, a solo home run by Tony Delmonico, and a two-run single by Stephen Cardullo during the second inning fueled the London Rippers' offense early.

Joash Brodin got on base five times in the game for the London Rippers. He scored three runs and had two RBIs. He singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Yohan Gonzalez picked up the win for the London Rippers. Gonzalez allowed no earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Kevin Patterson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out two.
