A seven-run explosion in the fourth inning hoisted the Schaumburg Boomers (43-31) to an 11-0 win in seven innings over the River City Rascals (34-40) at T. R. Hughes Ballpark on Wednesday.

Steve McQuail racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the first and fifth innings.

Robby Donovan kept contact to a minimum, striking out four the River City Rascals batters. The Schaumburg Boomers' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Justin Sarratt was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked four and struck out none.
