The Normal CornBelters pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. A fielder's choice scored Steven Felix and gave the Normal CornBelters the lead for good.

The Normal CornBelters staved off the River City Rascals as the River City Rascals were unable to match the Normal CornBelters down the stretch.

The River City Rascals scored two runs in the eighth on a two-run error. Despite their efforts, the River City Rascals couldn't finish the comeback.

Pat Trettel racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He doubled in the second and fifth innings and singled in the seventh inning.

Estevan Uriegas improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Uriegas struck out two, walked one and gave up no hits.

Justin Gill couldn't get it done on the bump for the River City Rascals, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
