Early lead not enough for the Lake Erie Crushers, drop 6-1 decision to the Washington Wild Things

Story by Narrative Science.

The Lake Erie Crushers (35-30) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-1 to the Washington Wild Things (26-37) on Sunday.

The Washington Wild Things took the lead in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Gus Benusa.

The Washington Wild Things relied on Casey Barnes to eat up innings en route to the win. Barnes pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out two.

Fagan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year.
