Darian Sandford had two extra base hits, helping the Southern Illinois Miners (25-18) to an 8-4 victory over the River City Rascals (24-19) on Tuesday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Jeremy Synan racked up two RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals. He singled in the first and sixth innings.

Cody Hall recorded his second win of the year for the Southern Illinois Miners. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. Hall struck out three, walked three and gave up five hits.

Adam Worthington ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
