The Schaumburg Boomers get on top of the Evansville Otters early but can't hang on in 4-2 loss

The Schaumburg Boomers (49-38) built an early edge on Thursday, but the Evansville Otters (41-45) roared back to steal a 4-2 victory at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

While the Schaumburg Boomers led until the eighth inning, the Evansville Otters worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run home run by Nick Schwaner.

Schwaner racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the eighth inning.

The Evansville Otters relied on Adam Champion to eat up innings en route to the win. Champion pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out three.

Nate Baumann racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the third inning.

Robby Donovan (9-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
