The London Rippers (19-29) shut the door early on the Traverse City Beach Bums (32-16), capturing a 9-2 victory on Sunday at Labatt Park.

With nine runs in the first three innings, the London Rippers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Joash Brodin, an RBI double by Mark Samuelson, a groundout by Ben Magsig, and an RBI double by Jim Vahalik in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Stephen Cardullo during the second inning fueled the London Rippers' offense early.

Vahalik racked up three RBIs on three hits for the London Rippers.

Brandon Sinnery's seven strikeouts helped the London Rippers to the victory. Sinnery allowed two earned runs, seven hits and one walk over eight innings.

Jose Vargas had a hot bat for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Vargas went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Reid Kelly couldn't get it done on the bump for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
