The Lake Erie Crushers hang on against the London Rippers, 4-2

The London Rippers (13-18) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Lake Erie Crushers (13-18) on Wednesday, as the London Rippers fell 4-2 at Labatt Park after falling behind by four runs in the fifth inning.

The London Rippers scored two runs in the fifth on an error and a groundout by Matt Wright. Despite their efforts, the London Rippers couldn't get over the hump.

Adrian Ortiz had a hot bat for the Lake Erie Crushers. Ortiz went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, second, and fifth innings.

Alex Loftin brought the heat against the London Rippers during his outing. The London Rippers managed just three hits off of the the Lake Erie Crushers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Wright did his best to jumpstart the offense for the London Rippers, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

Jamie Richmond (3-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
