The Rockford RiverHawks fight back, defeat the Joliet Slammers, 4-3

Things looked bleak for the Rockford RiverHawks (33-43) when they trailed by one run in the ninth inning, but the Rockford RiverHawks recovered thanks to a key in the thirteenth inning from Michael Thomas to pull out a 4-3 win in 13 innings over the Joliet Slammers (33-43) at Silver Cross Field.

With the score tied at two in the thirteenth inning, was hit by a pitch, scoring Michael Hur.

Thomas got on base three times in the game for the Rockford RiverHawks. He singled in the seventh inning.

The Rockford RiverHawks staved off the Joliet Slammers as the Joliet Slammers were unable to match the Rockford RiverHawks down the stretch.

The Joliet Slammers scored one run in the thirteenth on an RBI single by David Christensen. Unfortunately, the Joliet Slammers weren't able to take the lead back.

Hur paced the Rockford RiverHawks at the plate. Hur went 3-6 and scored two runs. He doubled in the ninth inning and singled in the tenth and thirteenth innings.

Garrett Granitz recorded his second win of the year for the Rockford RiverHawks. He allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Chase Doremus (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
