Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as the River City Rascals (12-2) outscored the Traverse City Beach Bums (8-6) 12-9.
The two teams combined for 24 hits in the game.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.
Chris Andreas racked up four RBIs on three hits for the River City Rascals. He homered in the second inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.
The Traverse City Beach Bums had no answer for Doug Shields, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Shields held the Traverse City Beach Bums hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three.
Matt Miller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
