A four-run eighth inning sealed an 8-1 win for the Traverse City Beach Bums (10-6) over the Florence Freedom (8-8) on Thursday at Home of the Florence Freedom.

Sean Gusrang helped the Traverse City Beach Bums pull ahead for the duration in the seventh inning. With the score tied at one, Gusrang came to the plate and doubled, scoring Jose Vargas and Vargas.

Marcus Nidiffer boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Traverse City Beach Bums. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Reid Kelly had an impressive outing against the Florence Freedom's lineup. Kelly gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Alec Lewis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
