The Washington Wild Things (24-21) and the Joliet Slammers (28-19) both had scoring chances on Tuesday, but it was the Washington Wild Things that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out an 8-7 win at Silver Cross Field.
Logan Uxa racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Washington Wild Things. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.
Andrew Woeck pitched lights out for the Washington Wild Things. Woeck held the Joliet Slammers hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Rock Shoulders racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Joliet Slammers. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
Tyler Levine (2-2) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
