The Windy City ThunderBolts make the most of 9 hits in 8-6 victory over the Normal CornBelters

Both the Windy City ThunderBolts (26-28) and the Normal CornBelters (24-30) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Windy City ThunderBolts that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-6 win at Standard Bank Stadium.

The Windy City ThunderBolts were led by a flawless day at the dish by Cody Keefer, who went 3-3 against the Normal CornBelters' pitching. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

The Normal CornBelters were led by Dylan Kelly's hitting. Kelly went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the sixth inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Clay Chapman recorded his sixth win of the year for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Chris Carmain (2-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out six.
