Tyler Vail kept the River City Rascals (19-13) off the board during his six innings of work and the Evansville Otters (20-13) beat the River City Rascals, 2-0.

Vail allowed two hits, two walks and struck out six.

Jeff Gardner racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the seventh inning.

Zeb Sneed pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out four.

Ken Frosch got the win, running his season record to 2-1. Frosch struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Sneed ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year.
