The Joliet Slammers (15-13) beat the Traverse City Beach Bums (9-17) 6-5 on Sunday at Wuerfel Park behind Marc Flores, who drove in three runs.

Jose Vargas had a hot bat for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Vargas went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the third inning.

Brent Choban improved to 3-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Luke Barker couldn't get it done on the mound for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
