Rick Teasley threw a shutout to lift the Southern Illinois Miners (11-9) to a 5-0 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (12-7) at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Teasley kept contact to a minimum, striking out 11 the Lake Erie Crushers batters. The Southern Illinois Miners' pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits.

The Southern Illinois Miners came out swinging, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Lake Erie Crushers early. The Southern Illinois Miners scored in the first on an RBI single by Nolan Earley, a sacrifice fly by Steve Marino, and a steal of home by Earley.

Earley had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Trevor Longfellow (0-1) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
