The River City Rascals (8-7) beat the Traverse City Beach Bums (6-9) 5-4 on Tuesday at Wuerfel Park behind Josh Silver, who knocked in three runs.

The Traverse City Beach Bums had no answer for Zac Treece, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Treece held the Traverse City Beach Bums hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

The Traverse City Beach Bums were led by Ryan Bottger's hitting. Bottger went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.

The River City Rascals couldn't get anything going so long as Luke Barker was on the hill. Barker held the River City Rascals hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Joe Scanio improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the River City Rascals. He allowed four runs over 6 2/3 innings. Scanio struck out six, walked none and gave up six hits.

Jacob Lanning (1-2) took the loss for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
