The Windy City ThunderBolts (7-1) and the Schaumburg Boomers (1-7) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Windy City ThunderBolts that eventually took advantage of them in an 8-6 win at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

Corey Bass did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Windy City ThunderBolts, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Dusty Robinson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Brandon Boyle got the win, running his season record to 2-0. Boyle struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.

Gunnar Kines was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
