An awesome effort by Izac Bauer lifted the Nevada Big Horns (6-9) to a 24-11 win over the Klamath Falls Gems (4-5) on Tuesday at Golden Eagle Park.
Bauer hit two home runs for the Nevada Big Horns. Bauer went 3-6 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Bauer homered in the third and fourth innings.
The two teams combined for 35 runs and 31 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were eight pitchers used in the game.
Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Nevada Big Horns to easily put away the Klamath Falls Gems. A fielder's choice, a double by Justin Mannens, a solo home run by Cole Lavergne, and a single by Scott Dwyer during the second inning fueled the Nevada Big Horns' offense early.
Joey Krug recorded his second win of the year for the Nevada Big Horns. He allowed three runs over four innings. Krug struck out one, walked six and gave up three hits.
Zach Lewandowski was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 14 runs in five innings, walked three and struck out five.
The Nevada Big Horns hammered the Klamath Falls Gems pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 17 hits, 19 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
