Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Douglas, 11-2

A six-run explosion in the third inning carried the Douglas (2-4) to an 11-2 win over the Fraser Valley Collegiate at Fair Field Park on Saturday.

The Douglas scored in the third on an RBI double by Surya Viswanathan, an RBI single by Rodney Gilbert, an RBI double by Shane Wlodarczak, a two-run double by Travis Ouellet, a two-run double by Ouellet, an RBI single by Matt Yee, and an RBI single by Yee.

Ouellet racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Douglas.

Shawn Andersen pitched lights out for the Douglas. The Fraser Valley Collegiate managed just two hits off of Andersen, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Emmons took the loss for the Fraser Valley Collegiate. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked two and struck out three.
