An ace performance by David Stealy carried the Skagit Valley (17-11) to a 4-0 win over the Shoreline (9-21) on Sunday at Meridian.
Stealy held the Shoreline scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out eight.
Myles Gouveia ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
