Connor Qualley hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Qualley struck out six batters to carry the Linn-Benton (16-12) to a 2-1 victory over the Chemeketa (15-12) at LBCC Baseball Field in eight innings.

The Chemeketa were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Chemeketa were ahead until the eighth inning, but the Linn-Benton would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on an RBI single by Sam Stevenson.

Kris Jackson pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out three.

Nick Goodman (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
