Key at bat helps the Olympic defeat the Shoreline, 10-8

Kyson Outram came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Outram reached on a in the eight to lead the Olympic (13-21) to a 10-8 win over the Shoreline (16-22) on Saturday at Legion Field.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 18 total runs and 23 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with six pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

The Olympic's Tyler Givens showed his talents on both sides of the diamond with a strong game on the rubber and at the plate.

Givens had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Givens brought the heat against the Shoreline during his outing. The Shoreline managed just one hit off of the the Olympic's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his one inning of work.

Outram improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Olympic. Outram struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.

Max Dwyer (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

The Olympic were sparked by Givens and Marcus Pleasants, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.
