Simpson leads the Columbia Basin to 5-0 victory thanks to 4 strikeouts

Wednesday was a great day for Tanner Simpson, as Simpson tossed a shutout to carry the Columbia Basin (27-10) to a 5-0 victory over the Yakima Valley at Columbia Basin Baseball Field.

Simpson held the Yakima Valley (26-13) scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out four.

Logan Green reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the second inning.

The Columbia Basin couldn't get anything going so long as Jorge Garcilazo was on the hill. Garcilazo held the Columbia Basin hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Chris Petrosie was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
