The Columbia Basin takes early lead on single, holds on for 9-4 win over the Wenatchee Valley

Eight first-inning runs helped the Columbia Basin (21-8) to a 9-4 win over the Wenatchee Valley (3-22) at Columbia Basin Baseball Field on Wednesday.

The Columbia Basin scored in the first on an RBI single by Isaiah Hatch, an RBI single by Drew Loera, an RBI single by Michael Wyatt, a two-run single by Anthony Gosline, a two-run triple by Colton Kelly, and an RBI single by Hatch.

Kelly put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Columbia Basin.

Tanner Roundy brought the heat against the Wenatchee Valley during his outing. Roundy gave up just two hits, allowed two earned runs, walked four and struck out two during his six innings of work.

Parker Rasmussen was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Columbia Basin batters and allowing one run.

Kyler Watts (0-4) took the loss for the Wenatchee Valley. He allowed eight runs in one inning, walked two and struck out two.

The Columbia Basin's Kelly, Hatch and Spencer Bennion combined for six hits and four RBIs.
