Austin Amundson was cold coming off the bench, but Amundson warmed up quickly as Amundson stroked a key pinch-hit single in the three to lead the Olympic (12-18) to a 4-2 win over the Columbia Basin (25-9) on Saturday at Columbia Basin Baseball Field.
With the game scoreless in the third inning Amundson came to the plate and singled.
The Olympic relied on Aaron Meyer to eat up innings en route to the win. Meyer allowed no earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out one over seven innings of work.
Wyatt Wentz (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
