Tyler Shannon went 4-4 at the plate, helping the Las Vegas Train Robbers (16-21) to a 5-3 victory over the Las Cruces Vaqueros (11-28) on Sunday at Apodoca Park.

Jake Taylor had two extra-base hits for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. He homered in the fourth inning, singled in the second and fifth innings, and doubled in the ninth inning.

Josh Ganus improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He allowed three runs over four innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Richard Cruz-Sanchez couldn't get it done on the hill for the Las Cruces Vaqueros, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
