The Trinidad Triggers best the Garden City Wind in shootout, 13-10

The bats were busy at Clint Lightner on Wednesday, and when the dust cleared the Trinidad Triggers (15-4) had a 13-10 win over the Garden City Wind (6-15) in 10 innings.

The two teams combined for 32 hits in the game.

Caleb Bryson racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He homered in the first inning, doubled in the ninth inning, and singled in the third and tenth innings.

The Garden City Wind had no answer for Justin Mauldin, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Mauldin held the Garden City Wind hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.

Jeffery Neptune got the win, running his season record to 5-1. He allowed four runs over two innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Jacob Gonzalez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.
