The Normal CornBelters (61-35) and the Schaumburg Boomers (40-56) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Normal CornBelters capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 3-1 win at The Corn Crib.

The Normal CornBelters were led by a flawless day at the dish by Tyler Shover, who went 3-3 against the Schaumburg Boomers' pitching. He singled in the second, fifth, and eighth innings.

Kevin Johnson picked up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Johnson pitched nine innings and allowed one earned run, 10 hits and two walks while striking out three.

Michael Valadez was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
