Marino's walk-off single send the Southern Illinois Miners home winners, 3-2

A walk-off single from Steve Marino brought home the winning run for the Southern Illinois Miners (58-28) in a 3-2 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers at Rent One Park, Marion, IL on Wednesday.

It was a good day at the plate for the Southern Illinois Miners' Marino. Marino went 2-4 and drove in one. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Niko Vasquez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the seventh inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

The Lake Erie Crushers (35-50)'s lineup had no answer for Tim Flight. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just two hits off of Flight, who allowed two earned runs, walked four and struck out three during his seven innings of work.

Jose Barraza racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the first inning.

Eric Green improved to 7-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. Green struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Trevor Longfellow (5-8) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
