The Lake Erie Crushers (34-48) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the Joliet Slammers (35-48) dominated in a 9-1 win at All Pro Freight Stadium.
A three-run double by Jeremy Nowak and a groundout by Marc Flores helped the Joliet Slammers score four runs in the sixth. The Joliet Slammers had three hits in the inning.
Nowak racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Joliet Slammers.
Michael Carden picked up the win for the Joliet Slammers. Carden allowed one earned run, seven hits and three walks while striking out five over eight innings of work.
Kolby Moore had an impressive outing against the Joliet Slammers' lineup. Moore gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Steve Hagen couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
