The Normal CornBelters (46-31) jumped on the Washington Wild Things (32-45) early on their way to a 5-3 win on Saturday at The Corn Crib, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Normal CornBelters scored in the first on an RBI single by Santiago Chirino and a two-run home run by Aaron Dudley.

Dudley racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters.

Michael Schweiss recorded his sixth win of the year for the Normal CornBelters. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. Schweiss struck out eight, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Tim Flight (3-7) took the loss for the Washington Wild Things. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
