The River City Rascals (37-32) rolled over the Joliet Slammers (28-41) 7-1 on Thursday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark after a five-run rally in the third inning.

The River City Rascals scored in the third on an RBI double by Hector Crespo, an RBI double by Brian Hansen, and a three-run home run by Danny Canela.

Canela racked up three RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals.

Joe Scanio had an impressive outing against the Joliet Slammers' lineup. The Joliet Slammers managed just two hits off of Scanio, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his seven innings of work.

Adam Giacalone ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked two and struck out two.
