Schultz helps the Evansville Otters down the Washington Wild Things 8-4

John Schultz had two extra base hits, helping the Evansville Otters (40-19) to an 8-4 victory over the Washington Wild Things (25-34) on Saturday at Bosse Field.

He homered in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Matt Ford paced the Washington Wild Things at the plate. Ford went 3-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.

Tyler Vail recorded his seventh win of the year for the Evansville Otters. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered six hits.

Tim Flight (2-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out nine.

The Evansville Otters' Josh Allen, Schultz and Dean Wilson combined for six hits and five RBIs.
