A six-run explosion in the second inning spurred the Evansville Otters (39-19) to an 8-1 win over the Washington Wild Things (25-33) at Bosse Field on Friday.

Phillips racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters.

Trevor Walch picked up the win for the Evansville Otters. Walch pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, eight hits and two walks while striking out five.
