The River City Rascals (31-25) built an early edge on Wednesday, but the Schaumburg Boomers (24-32) roared back to steal a 5-4 victory at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.
The Schaumburg Boomers took the lead in the eighth inning on a two-run single by T.J. Bennett.
Craig Massey paced the Schaumburg Boomers at the plate. Massey went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and eighth innings.
Hideyoshi Otake had an impressive outing against the River City Rascals' lineup. Otake gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
Derek Cape was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
