Jarett Miller kept the Gateway Grizzlies (13-28) off the board during his six innings of work and the Southern Illinois Miners (27-15) beat the Gateway Grizzlies, 11-0.

Miller struck out five and allowed no walks and three hits.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Southern Illinois Miners in the fifth. The Gateway Grizzlies had no answer as the Southern Illinois Miners scored six runs. The Southern Illinois Miners scored in the fifth on an RBI double by Michael Earley, a two-run double by Frank Martinez, and a three-run home run by Jerrud Sabourin.

Martinez racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Southern Illinois Miners.

Donny Murray (0-1) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed four runs.

The Southern Illinois Miners easily handled the Gateway Grizzlies pitching as six hitters combined for 12 hits, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored.
