The Joliet Slammers (15-21) and the Schaumburg Boomers (15-21) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Joliet Slammers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-4 win at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

Hunter Ridge racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Joliet Slammers. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth and eighth innings.

The Schaumburg Boomers couldn't get anything going as long as Kevin McNorton was pitching. The Schaumburg Boomers managed just two hits off of McNorton, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Michael Carden recorded his first win of the year for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked four and surrendered six hits.

Raul Jacobson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked none and struck out four.
