The Washington Wild Things (14-22)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 4-2 win over the Florence Freedom (14-22) on Thursday at UC Health Stadium.

Scott Kalamar racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Washington Wild Things. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Kyle Helisek picked up the win for the Washington Wild Things. Helisek allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out two over six innings of work.

Ryan Davis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
