The Windy City ThunderBolts outdone by Micowski and the Normal CornBelters, 7-4

Mark Micowski knocked in three runs as the Normal CornBelters (20-14) took home a 7-4 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts (14-19) at Standard Bank Stadium on Wednesday.

He tripled in the first inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Race Parmenter pitched lights out for the Normal CornBelters. Parmenter held the Windy City ThunderBolts hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Jacob Tanis had two extra-base hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Tommy Nance had an impressive outing against the Normal CornBelters' lineup. The Normal CornBelters managed just two hits off of Nance, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Ross Spurgeon improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. He allowed two runs over three innings. Spurgeon struck out one, walked one and gave up five hits.

Austin Wright ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
