The Normal CornBelters (18-14) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 3-1 ballgame against the Lake Erie Crushers (11-19) on Sunday at The Corn Crib.

An RBI double by Trevor Stevens gave the Lake Erie Crushers the lead in the fifth inning.

Michael Schweiss was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the Lake Erie Crushers batters and allowing two runs.

Brad Zambron improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed one run over five innings. Zambron struck out one, walked two and gave up five hits.

Schweiss ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year.
