Anthony Renteria went 1-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Rockford Aviators (20-9) to a 3-1 victory over the Joliet Slammers (11-19) on Thursday at Silver Cross Field.

The Rockford Aviators relied on Kyle Hassna to eat up innings en route to the win. Hassna pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, nine hits and no walks while striking out one.

Russell Moldenhauer was solid at the plate for the Joliet Slammers. Moldenhauer went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Kevin McNorton (2-1) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
