The Joliet Slammers (9-13) rolled over the Washington Wild Things 11-1 on Tuesday at Silver Cross Field after a six-run rally in the eighth inning.
The Joliet Slammers scored in the eighth on a two-run single by Jack Cleary, a hit by pitch, an RBI single by Russell Moldenhauer, and a two-run single by Mike Garza.
Cleary had two extra-base hits for the Joliet Slammers.
Andrew Strenge struck out seven, paving the way for a the Joliet Slammers win. Strenge allowed no earned runs on four hits and one walk over six innings.
Tim Flight couldn't get it done on the hill for the Washington Wild Things (9-13), taking a loss. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
JD Williams, Cleary and Phillip Bates helped lead the Joliet Slammers. They combined for seven hits and seven RBIs.
