Four first-inning runs helped the Normal CornBelters (15-6) to a 7-6 win over the Southern Illinois Miners (14-7) at The Corn Crib on Sunday.

Richard Lucas racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the first inning.

Frank Martinez got a hit in each of his two at bats. He homered in the sixth inning.

Even though Kevin Johnson allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. Johnson struck out five, walked three and gave up six hits.

Miguel Ramirez was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
