The Gateway Grizzlies offense too much for the Florence Freedom in 10-4 rout

The Gateway Grizzlies (4-9) jumped out to an early lead on the Florence Freedom (6-6) and captured a 10-4 victory on Thursday at GCS Ballpark.

Nine runs in the first three innings allowed the Gateway Grizzlies to put the game away early.

A three-run home run by Blake Brown during the first inning and a two-run double by Garrett Vail, a single by Clayton Brandt, an RBI single by Madison Beaird, a single by Beaird, and a single by Rolando Gomez in the second inning fueled the Gateway Grizzlies' offense early.

Brown racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Gateway Grizzlies.

Troy Barton pitched lights out for the Gateway Grizzlies. Barton held the Florence Freedom hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Cody Bishop racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Vincent Molesky improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Jake Stephens was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
