The Evansville Otters offense too much for the Florence Freedom in 10-1 rout

The Evansville Otters (5-2) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Florence Freedom (5-2), recording a 10-1 victory on Friday at Bosse Field.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Evansville Otters to put the game away early.

A two-run home run by Chris Sweeney during the second inning helped the Evansville Otters put some runs on the board early.

Kurt Wertz Jr. racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

The Florence Freedom's lineup had no answer for Preston Olson. The Florence Freedom managed just two hits off of Olson, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out three during his six innings of work.

Pete Levitt brought the heat against the Evansville Otters during his outing. Levitt held the Evansville Otters hitless over 3 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out two.

Jake Stephens (0-1) took the loss for the Florence Freedom. He allowed 10 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.
