The Joliet Slammers (1-4) and the Lake Erie Crushers (2-3) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Joliet Slammers that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-3 win at Silver Cross Field.

Russell Moldenhauer did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Joliet Slammers, reaching base three times. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Jordan Guth's eight strikeouts helped the Joliet Slammers to the victory. Guth allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk over eight innings.

Despite the loss, the Lake Erie Crushers' Jason Wilson dominated the Joliet Slammers' batters, giving up three runs and striking out seven.

Kyle McMillen (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
