The Schaumburg Boomers (13-11) beat the Washington Wild Things (16-8) 1-0 on Thursday at CONSOL Energy Park behind Justin Vasquez, who went 1-4 and hit a home run.

He homered in the ninth inning.

Seth Webster had an impressive outing against the Washington Wild Things' lineup. Webster held the Washington Wild Things hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.

Zac Fuesser brought the heat against the Schaumburg Boomers during his outing. The Schaumburg Boomers managed just two hits off of Fuesser, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Heith Hatfield got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Hatfield struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Matt Purnell couldn't get it done on the hill for the Washington Wild Things, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
