Austin Prott had three extra base hits, helping the Alpine Cowboys (34-17) to a 10-5 victory over the Santa Fe Fuego (28-18) on Friday at Fort Marcy Park.
He doubled in the third inning, tripled in the seventh inning, and homered in the ninth inning.Chevas Numata racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
John Cruse improved to 5-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alpine Cowboys. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out eight, walked none and surrendered six hits.
Jeremiah Steinert (6-2) took the loss for the Santa Fe Fuego. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.
The Alpine Cowboys were sparked by Tyler Heck and Prott, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.
