Grant DeBruin collected three hits as the Joliet Slammers (29-45) took home an 8-3 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners (45-29) in six innings at Silver Cross Field on Sunday.

Ethan Carter picked up the win for the Joliet Slammers. Carter allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.

Frank Martinez got on base two times in the game for the Southern Illinois Miners. He also drove in one runner. He tripled in the fourth inning.

Jack McGeary was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out two.
